Indian School Muscat Celebrates Annual Graduation Day

Muscat: Indian School Muscat (ISM) organized its Annual Graduation Ceremony on February 3, 2024, at the School's Multipurpose Hall, to honor the outgoing batch of Grade XII students.

The event was a moment of great pride and privilege for not only the students but also for their parents, teachers, and well-wishers.

Distinguished guests including Dr. Maha Kobeil, Dean and CEO of Majan University, Sultanate of Oman, honorable members of the Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman, Dr. Syed Ziaur Rahman, Vice President of the School Management Committee, Sharafdeen Yoosaf, Convenor, Mohammed Imran Khan, Treasurer, Zulfikar Hussain Desai, Co-convenor, and Dr. Subramanian Muthuraman, Academic Chair of the School Management Committee, along with other esteemed members of the Indian School Muscat Management Committee, Principal Rakesh Joshi, Senior Vice Principal Administration, Vice Principals, Assistant Vice Principals, Heads of Departments, and other dignitaries were present to witness the proceedings.

The ceremony commenced with a beautiful rendition of the national anthems of Oman and India, led by the school choir. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, which added a touch of divinity to the event. The invocation dance, seeking the blessings of the Almighty and paying tribute to all teachers, stood out as a perfect reflection of the celebrations. Annirudh Menon, the School Head Boy, warmly welcomed the distinguished gathering. The chief guest was then presented with a floral bouquet by Student Council Literary Coordinators, Humairah Salman and Joshua Alex Pratheesh.

The procession of the Student Council Members, representing the graduating class of 2023-24, made their entrance into the hall. This symbolic march was a heartfelt expression of gratitude towards the school for the countless opportunities and wisdom it had bestowed upon them. 

Led by the Head boy, all the new graduates took a pledge. Following this, the Head boy and the Head girl unveiled a larger-than-life book, accompanied by an exhilarating video, as a token of appreciation from the student community to the school.

The students were honored to receive mementoes from the chief guest and other esteemed individuals. The school choir captivated the audience with a mesmerizing song titled 'My wish for you,' conveying their best wishes for the students' future.

As a gesture of love and appreciation, the chief guest was presented with an artwork created by Liya Reji of 9 M, depicting the 'Power of Ambition and Freedom.'

In her congratulatory speech, the chief guest praised the young aspirants and reminded them that challenges provide opportunities for growth. She encouraged them to embrace the unknown with courage and let their passion guide them. Additionally, she emphasized the importance of appreciating the wonders of technology, as it is a force that connects, empowers, and transforms lives.

The chief guest also highlighted that the graduates hold the key to the digital era. She emphasized that artificial intelligence can be a beacon of progress if used wisely and responsibly. The graduates were urged to be guardians of innovation, ensuring that its benefits are inclusive and its impact is positive.

In recognition of their commitment, dedication, and positivity, the chief guest presented the Student Council members with mementoes.

The solemn ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the head girl, Chandrika Singh, followed by the school anthem. It was a day of celebration and achievement that the students will cherish for years to come.
