SalamAir Releases 2nd Quarter On-Time Performance Data

Muscat: SalamAir, Oman’s low-cost carrier, has released its OnTime Performance (OTP) data for the second quarter of 2025, reaffirming the company’s dedication to operational reliability and transparency. OTP is a statistic that shows how frequently an airline is on time and how well it fulfills its customers' punctuality commitments.

Between April and June 2025, SalamAir conducted 5,144 flights, transporting 712,610 passengers and achieving an OTP of 88%. This represents a 12% increase in OTP over Q1, which was 78%, and underscores the airline's commitment to ensuring punctuality in the face of regional operational and political issues. While flight operations during this time were affected by regional conflicts and other external factors beyond our control, SalamAir maintained a strong performance and provided dependable service to its clients.

“Delivering on-time service is not just a metric; it’s a promise we make to every passenger who chooses to fly with us,” said Mohsin Al Balushi, SalamAir’s Ground Operations Director. “Achieving an OTP of 88% in Q2, above global benchmarks and up from 78% in Q1, reflects the dedication of our team and the trust of our customers. ”

As of Q3 2024, SalamAir has committed to publicly disclosing OTP findings on a quarterly basis. This initiative seeks to provide greater transparency and assist tourists in making educated choices based on trustworthy performance statistics.

OTP is calculated as the proportion of flights departing within 15 minutes of the scheduled time, accounting for all reasons of delay, and provides an accurate picture of airline performance and customer experience.
