Dubai: Emirates' eagerly awaited Airbus A350 is now a common sight at Muscat International Airport, thanks to the commencement of regular daily flights between Dubai and Muscat.
The rollout of the next-generation aircraft, which was originally planned for July 1, has been moved up by one week. Flight EK 866 departs Dubai at 2:15 AM and arrives in Muscat at 3:30 AM. The return flight, EK 867, departs Muscat at 4:40 a. m. and arrives in Dubai at 5:55 a. m. , perfectly timed for customers to connect to flights to Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia.
The three-class aircraft has 312 seats, including 32 lie-flat Business Class seats arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, 21 Premium Economy seats in a comfortable 2-3-2 setup, and 259 spacious Economy Class seats in a 3-3-3 layout. Designed to provide consumers with an improved travel experience, all cabins include higher ceilings and broader aisles. Customers of all tiers appreciate the airline's award-winning and up-to-date inflight entertainment system, which includes a cinematic viewing experience, upgraded cabin lighting, faster connectivity via high-speed WiFi, and enhanced seat ergonomics for added comfort on short and medium-haul journeys.
The addition of the Airbus A350 in Muscat underscores Emirates' continued commitment to Oman. Muscat is one of the first few cities in the area to get Emirates' next-generation A350, joining a widening network that includes Kuwait, Bahrain, Dammam, and Amman, as well as other destinations such as Edinburgh, Mumbai, Tunis, Colombo, and Ahmedabad. So far, the airline has welcomed seven A350s to its fleet, which is expected to serve 17 locations across its global network by the end of the year.
To accommodate the increased summer travel demand, Emirates has added two more weekly connections between Dubai and Muscat, operating on Thursdays and Saturdays. Flight EK 862 leaves Dubai at 7:55 a. m. and arrives in Muscat at 9:05 a. m. , while the return flight EK 863 departs Muscat at 11:25 a. m. and arrives in Dubai at 12:30 p. m.
