Muscat: In a major step against human trafficking, the Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations, together with the Special Tasks Police Unit in Bausher, has detained three Bangladeshi nationals accused of running a human trafficking operation involving women of their own nationality.
The Royal Oman Police (ROP) reported that the ladies were lured under false pretenses and forced into prostitution. During the operation in the Wilayat of Bausher, officials located six women of Bangladeshi, Thai, and Laotian nationality at the suspects' home.
The ladies were reportedly discovered participating in activities considered immoral and indecent. Law enforcement officials stressed that the legal process is ongoing for all parties engaged.
