Oman, Brunei Darussalam Celebrate 40th Anniversary Of Diplomatic Relations

Muscat: On Monday, the Sultanate of Oman and Brunei Darussalam commemorated the fortieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

The ceremony, hosted at the Foreign Ministry, featured the unveiling of a commemorative logo designed to reflect the profound nature of the bilateral diplomatic ties.

During the event, Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, the Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, remarked, “The Sultanate of Oman and Brunei Darussalam are bound by deep-seated relations, characterized by continuous dialogue and notable accomplishments across economic, cultural, and political domains.”

Al Harthy further stated that “there are numerous projects and investment opportunities available across sectors such as fish farming, health, and education.”

In her remarks, Noralizan Abdula Momin, the Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the Sultanate of Oman, highlighted the enduring friendship between the two nations, noting that their relations have experienced consistent growth since 1984.

Momin emphasized that the relations between Oman and Brunei Darussalam are poised for further advancement in various cooperative sectors, which will lead to the strengthening of partnerships in education, culture, defense, economic investment, energy, and food security.
