Salalah: The "Entrepreneurship, Employment, and Localization Policies" conference, jointly organized by the Ministry of Labour, commenced today in the city of Salalah.
This conference delves into the significance of entrepreneurship in fostering sustainable economic diversification and the growth of non-oil sectors within the Sultanate of Oman.
The conference is held in conjunction with the business forum, which is centered around the themes of "Together We Work, Together We Innovate, and Prosper". The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Sheikh Salim Mustahail Al Ma’ashani, the Adviser at the Diwan of Royal Court.
Furthermore, the conference explores the application of artificial intelligence as a strategic tool for planning and sustainable development.
The agenda for the first day of the conference features two discussion panels. The inaugural panel, titled “The Importance of Localizing Jobs to Serve the National Economy”, examines the critical role of job localization in the national economy. The subsequent panel highlights success stories that have emerged from the implementation of job localization strategies within the private sector.
The conference also presents three working papers. The inaugural paper focuses on the role of freelancing in creating employment opportunities; the second paper scrutinizes the "National Employment Policy"; and the third paper provides an overview of the Omanization experience at Petroleum Development Oman (PDO).
