A Dive Into Youth-led Entrepreneurial Projects In Dhofar

Muscat: The Khareef season in Dhofar has significantly accelerated the development of youth-led entrepreneurial ventures. These ventures, supported by both governmental agencies and private sector institutions, are playing a pivotal role in bolstering the local economy, generating employment opportunities, and enhancing individual incomes.

Among the various models of these ventures are:

1. Osara: This integrated tourist and entertainment hub features a wide array of recreational activities, cultural events, and dining options. Founded by Majid bin Ali Al-Masahli, the project aims to establish a comprehensive tourist and entertainment site along the Raysut beach in the Salalah Wilayat of Dhofar Governorate. It is managed by a collective of Omani youth and represents a unified tourist destination that encompasses a variety of recreational and cultural activities, events, and relaxation sessions, catering to all age groups.

2. Lamir Al-Maghsail: This recreational tourist site offers a range of amenities including restaurants, cafes, boat tours, and activities for children. The founder of the "Lamir Al-Maghsail" website, Nader bin Bakhit Fadel, shares his journey of establishing a recreational tourist site for the third consecutive year since its inception in 2022, under the stewardship of young individuals. The site features several restaurants and cafes, a designated area for children's activities, and pleasure boats for sea excursions, complemented by an artificial waterfall and seating areas for families.

3. Seda Park: This mobile food cart park boasts cultural, artistic, and entertainment features. Hamza bin Mohammed Al Ghassani, the proprietor of the "Seda Park" website, highlights that the project includes a fleet of mobile carts offering meals, beverages, and related services, in collaboration with a variety of local and international cafes and restaurants.

4. Revel Park: This square is dedicated to mobile sales outlets, restaurants, cafes, and entertainment activities.

Muslim bin Abdul Salam Al Rawas, the owner of the "Revel Park" site in Itin Plain, Salalah, notes that the second edition of the youth-led project, managed by "Sar" Events Company, features a square dedicated to mobile sales outlets, both local and international, from restaurants and cafes, aiming to create an appealing entertainment and commercial hub that meets the diverse needs of citizens, residents, and visitors.

These ventures are not merely contributing to the local economy but are also exemplifying the innovative spirit and entrepreneurial acumen of the youth in Oman. They underscore the potential for young individuals to significantly contribute to the nation's development, especially in the tourism and hospitality sectors.
