Oman Participates In Meetings Of UNESCO Executive Board

During the UNESCO Executive Board's 219th session held in Paris from March 13 to 27, 2024, the Sultanate of Oman actively participated in various tasks. Dr. Hamad Saif Al Hamami, the Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to UNESCO, represented Oman at the meeting, alongside other officials.

In his address, Al Hamami highlighted that Oman secured membership to the UNESCO Executive Board for the period of 2023-2027. He also emphasized the significance of the Palestinian crisis, which he stated holds a prominent position on the global stage. Al Hamami called for immediate actions to halt the conflict in the Gaza Strip and other Palestinian territories, urging the application of international law to safeguard civilians, address their humanitarian needs, and put an end to the unlawful blockade on Gaza and other Palestinian regions.

Furthermore, Al Hamami reaffirmed Oman's unwavering commitment to promoting constructive dialogue and fostering the values of tolerance within society.
