Muscat: An official from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has announced changes to the age criteria for acquiring residential land in the Sultanate of Oman.
Ahmed Al Kimyani, the Director General of Lands at the Ministry, stated that the minimum age for both married and unmarried men to obtain residential land has been lowered to 23 years. This adjustment aims to better meet the needs of citizens and promote family stability among all Omani nationals. Additionally, single women will now be eligible to apply for residential land at the age of 30, reduced from the previous requirement of 40 years.
Al Kimyani further clarified that if a woman is the primary provider for her family, she can still qualify for residential land at the age of 23. This includes divorced women who support their children and widows who are the main earners for their families.
