The Omani Human Rights Commission (OHRC) delegation attended the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) meetings and conference in Geneva on Tuesday. Discussions were held on the strategic plan of the Global Alliance, challenges faced by national institutions responsible for human rights, and ways to improve cooperation among regional networks associated with GANHRI.
Dr. Rashid Hamad Al Balushi, Chairman of OHRC, led Oman's delegation and also participated in a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions during the GANHRI conference in Geneva. The committee reviewed the Arab Network's 2024 program, discussed the latest efforts and developments related to the Palestinian cause, and expressed support for the Independent Commission for Human Rights in the State of Palestine. Additionally, strategies for updating the Arab Network's strategy for the upcoming years were deliberated.
