Oman LNG has successfully completed the loading of its inaugural liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo for Shell, marking a pivotal achievement in the company's strategy to enhance its global market presence and solidify Oman’s status as a premier LNG supplier.
The ceremonial event was held at Oman LNG’s advanced facility in Sur, presided over by Eng. Salim Nassir Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, along with senior representatives from both Oman LNG and Shell.
This significant shipment marks the commencement of a new phase, in line with Oman Vision 2040 and Oman LNG’s strategic objectives to foster partnerships and ensure sustainable growth.
In his address, Al Aufi underscored the significance of this event: “Today’s shipment represents more than just a delivery; it is a reflection of Oman’s dedication to energy security, international collaboration, and sustainable economic development. It also highlights the robust partnership between Oman LNG and Shell, founded on mutual trust and a shared vision.”
Oman LNG’s CEO, Hamad Mohammed Al Nu’amani, also spoke on the importance of this shipment: “We are entering a 10-year concession extension with industry leaders in LNG and energy. Our growth trajectory aligns with Oman’s vision and is responsive to the changing demands of the global energy market. Our collaboration with Shell continues to flourish, supporting Oman’s economic diversification objectives.”
