Oman, Iran Discuss Means Of Enhancing Bilateral Cooperation

The 10th meeting of the Strategic Consultations Committee between the Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Iran took place in Tehran on Tuesday. Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, led the Omani delegation, while Ali Bagheri, Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, headed the Iranian delegation.

Discussions focused on ways to strengthen cooperation in economic, consular, cultural, and maritime security areas, as well as promoting investment and tourism exchanges. Both sides also addressed the challenges hindering their progress in a manner that benefits both countries.

Moreover, they shared perspectives on various regional and international matters of mutual interest. They reiterated their joint appeal to the international community to halt the Israeli atrocities against the Palestinian people in Gaza, push for an immediate ceasefire, end the blockade on Gaza, provide humanitarian assistance, and hold Israel accountable for its ongoing violations of international law and humanitarian principles.

Several officials from the foreign ministries of Oman and Iran were present at the meeting.
