A'Rustaq: The summer program for male and female students at the schools of South Al Batinah Governorate began today in each of the governorate's wilayats.
This year's programme, organised by the Directorate General of Education in South Al Batinah, has the theme "My Summer: Connection and Growth" and includes a variety of scientific, technical, artistic, literary, social, sports, entrepreneurial, scouting, and media training programs.
Amna Mohammed Al Balushi, Director of the Vocational Guidance and Student Counseling Department and Chair of the Summer Program Planning and Organization Committee in South Al Batinah, announced that the program will last two weeks and include students from several schools throughout the governorate.
She clarified that the goal of the initiative is to make productive use of summer vacation by benefiting participants, cultivating citizenship values, providing them with scientific and practical skills, nurturing talents, expanding their knowledge, and enhancing cognitive, intellectual, creative, and life skills. It also aims to promote national identity, loyalty to the nation and the Sultan, ethical and social values, and improve students' information technology, scientific innovation, and entrepreneurship abilities. The program also teaches participants how to think scientifically, innovate, and be creative in a variety of subjects.
Al Balushi additionally stated that the summer program promotes cooperation, teamwork, self-confidence, and self-esteem while providing more opportunities for students to explore and develop their abilities. It supports their experiences by nurturing and embracing their ideas, helping them to develop a variety of skills. Furthermore, it fosters cooperation and partnerships between organizations while emphasizing cultural and tourism features.
She mentioned that this year's program will include skill-based activities in cultural, literary, artistic, sports, economic, tourism, and media areas.
These include artificial intelligence applications, virtual reality, mental arithmetic, 3D printing, robotics, modern technology, mountain adventures, climbing, swimming, other sports activities, first aid, drone and smartphone photography fundamentals, debates, cultural competitions, acting, and a variety of games. The program will also include green schools, recycling, palm frond crafts, pottery, ceramics, and drawing.
These goals will be met via the program's four key pillars: value and cultural enrichment, applied sciences, awareness and guidance, and student activities—all essential elements in developing students' personalities and highlighting the significance of values in their lives.
