National Committee For Emergency Management Meets

Muscat: The National Committee for Emergency Management (NCEM) held its first meeting of the year today at the Police General Command, chaired by Lt. Gen. Hassan Mohsen Al Shuraiqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs and Chairman of the NCEM.

The meeting examined national initiatives in emergency management, the degree of coordination among all key sectors, and plans to improve emergency response protocols.

During the meeting, the electronic emergency management system platform was introduced. The platform intends to enhance and simplify the National Committee's efforts in managing and exchanging information and data related to emergency handling at all stages, from monitoring to early warning, preparedness, and response. The electronic system will connect all parts of the Emergency Management Committee, including subcommittees in the governorates, operation centers, and other connected organizations engaged in emergency management.

The Inspector General of Police and Customs highlighted the significance of ongoing training and preparedness, stressing the community's involvement in boosting prevention and lowering dangers. He also praised the National Committee, subcommittees, and other sectors for their efforts in managing crises.
