Oman emphasized the importance of developing practical and innovative solutions to address the adverse effects of climate change during a conference at the 56th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.
The Sultanate of Oman suggested creating a database to identify areas most at risk of climate-related damage in the near, medium, and long term.
Idris Abdulrahman Al Khanjari, the Permanent Representative of Oman to the UN and International Organizations in Geneva, delivered the speech, calling on all parties to work together to find comprehensive solutions that consider local factors, anticipate change, and ensure a smooth transition to protect the environment.
Al Khanjari highlighted the need for proactive, fair, sustainable, and eco-friendly alternatives that would facilitate the relocation of populations to safer areas while maintaining livelihoods, justice, and environmental laws globally.
