Eng. Khamis Mohammed Al Shammakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technology for Transport, highlighted that the Ministry has successfully completed 90% of the transport projects initiated in 2024.
Regarding the ports sector, Al Shammakhi emphasized the Ministry's commitment to maximizing the sector's potential and attracting additional investments.
He also mentioned that there are targeted initiatives for tourism-related projects, with the Ministry actively studying the implementation of various projects in Jabal Shams, Al Jabal Al Akhdar, and Al Jabal Al Abyad.
In parallel, Dr. Ali Amer Al Shidhani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Communications and Information Technology, stated that the Ministry has been focused on enhancing the electronic authentication system. He confirmed that the digital transformation efforts are ongoing to ensure the integration of government services.
Al Shidhani further noted that the establishment of the 4IR Centre in Oman, in collaboration with the World Economic Forum, aims to leverage international expertise and facilitate experience sharing. He added that the centre will play a significant role in strengthening Oman’s presence in global forums.
