Muscat: The Ministry of Education has established 46 specialized technical support centers for General Education Diploma students to amend their academic programs in the Unified Admission system, with services available until Thursday evening.
These centers seek to help students throughout the crucial step of modifying their academic programs in the Unified Admission electronic system—a crucial moment that necessitates careful decision-making and awareness of available options.
Fatima Khalfan Al Fori, Assistant Director of Curriculum and Career Guidance, stated that these centers are geographically dispersed throughout all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, ensuring easy access for all students, whether they live in the nation or study abroad.
She said that the centers help students make informed academic decisions by offering technical and advisory assistance, as well as ensuring that they use the online registration and modification system correctly and successfully.
Al Fori emphasized that these initiatives were not random, but rather the result of thorough preparation, including careful selection of center locations, selection of participating experts, and equipping facilities with equipment, computers, and internet connectivity to guarantee successful service delivery to students and their parents.
She stated that 158 department heads, supervisors, and career counseling professionals volunteered throughout the summer vacation to provide these services, which are strategically distributed to assure full coverage of educational governorates.
To guarantee that all qualified kids are aware, the sites of these centers were disclosed through a variety of media and digital channels, emphasizing the significance of this step and the requirement for careful academic program selection.
These centers provide assistance to students and parents with registration, the process of organising academic programs in the electronic system—in person, over the phone, or via communication groups—and individual career advising to guide students based on their academic interests.
In addition, the centres assist with technical concerns encountered during modification or submission, monitor changes to academic programs and new specializations, and collaborate with Higher Education Admission Centre experts to provide immediate assistance for exceptional situations.
This step is one of the most sensitive in the registration and admission process, and it need that applicants read the student handbook carefully, comprehend program requirements, and confirm that adequate program choices are entered—increasing their chances of obtaining a suitable seat while reducing the risk of missing opportunities due to poor prioritization.
Through these ongoing efforts, the Ministry of Education reiterates its strong commitment to offering supportive and effective educational services to students during important periods, allowing them to make informed decisions based on quality guidance and laying the groundwork for successful academic futures in higher education institutions both inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman.
