Muscat: By the end of December 2024, the revenue generated by hotels classified as 3-5 stars in the Sultanate of Oman rose by 6.2 percent, totaling OMR 243,356,000, compared to OMR 229,256,000 at the end of December 2023.
According to data from the National Center for Statistics and Information, this growth is attributed to a 3.6 percent increase in the overall number of hotel guests, which reached approximately 2,145,579 by the end of December 2024, up from 2,071,169 guests in December 2023. Additionally, the occupancy rate saw a rise of 2.1 percent.
The statistics indicate a 4.5 percent increase in Omani guests, totaling 804,291, while Gulf guests numbered 198,535. The count of other Arab guests rose by 10.3 percent to 103,034, and European guests increased by 4.3 percent, reaching 539,470. Guests from the Americas totaled 61,751, marking a 6.9 percent increase, while those from Africa reached 12,742, reflecting a 9.2 percent rise.
Asian guests also saw a 4.7 percent increase, totaling 311,150, whereas the number of guests from Oceania decreased by 26.1 percent, amounting to 33,052.
