Muscat: The Royal Academy of Management (RAM) has initiated the Executive Leadership Programme aimed at Heads of Departments.
This program seeks to empower the leaders of government departments in Oman, enabling them to contribute more significantly to their organizations. The first edition of this executive training initiative is crafted to enhance their strategic decision-making abilities and leadership skills.
The launch of this groundbreaking programme is inspired by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, who aims to provide Omani leaders with refreshed skills and empowerment techniques, coinciding with the goals set out in Oman Vision 2040.
The Executive Leadership Programme for Heads of Departments forms part of a broader range of strategic efforts and initiatives by RAM in 2023, aimed at fostering effective leadership and innovative capabilities among department heads in the public sector, thereby enhancing their potential as impactful leaders.
This initiative is designed to deepen participants' understanding of institutional innovation, promote sustainability, and equip them to adapt proactively to the rapidly evolving landscape of the public sector today and in the future.
Covering a comprehensive curriculum, the programme comprises five learning modules that address various subjects, such as self-leadership, team leadership, organizational leadership, motivational leadership, negotiation tactics, creative problem-solving, and adaptive leadership.
Participants will also delve into topics like financial planning, government investment methods, project management, and risk management. The curriculum includes field visits, presentations featuring technological simulations, mentoring sessions, and a hackathon.
It is expected that those who participate in the programme will attain several important outcomes, particularly the ability to apply creative thinking within their leadership roles, preparing them to address challenges with innovative strategies.
Moreover, attendees will be better equipped to implement innovation in their work environments, form effective teams, devise creative solutions, and enhance their confidence while improving their communication capabilities.
The Executive Leadership Programme for Heads of Departments is open to 30 participants, encompassing department heads and individuals in comparable roles within State Administrative Apparatus units, including both civilian and military branches.
