Ukraine: Russia Launches Largest Strikes In Weeks

Russia attacked Ukraine overnight into Thursday with hundreds of drones and missiles in the most powerful attack in weeks.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russian forces launched 574 drones and 40 rockets, with air defenses destroying 546 drones and 31 missiles.

According to the Ukrainian military, Russia utilized planes, hypersonic, ballistic, and cruise missiles throughout the attack.

Hits were reported at eleven places, with debris striking three more. Explosions were reported in the capital, Kyiv, and the western city of Lviv.

According to regional governor Maksym Kozytskyi, one individual was slain and two others were wounded in the attack on Lviv.

Dozens of houses were destroyed in the attack.

According to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, a civilian facility owned by a US electronics business in western Ukraine was attacked and badly damaged.

Air raid sirens sounded in Kyiv on Wednesday night, and drone strikes persisted throughout the night, prompting officials to advise locals to stay in air raid shelters as air defenses remained operational.

No information of injuries or damage was first released from Kyiv.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia's air attacks on Ukraine on Thursday confirm that there is little chance of reaching a peace settlement with Moscow.

So yet, Moscow has given no indication that it is prepared to enter into substantial discussions to end this conflict, Zelenskyy said in a brief message on Telegram.

Pressure is required. Strong sanctions, high tariffs.

There were hopes of a breakthrough after a week of frenetic diplomacy, during which US President Donald Trump met with Vladimir Putin in Alaska, followed by a meeting of European leaders and Zelenskyy in the Oval Office.

Following his meeting with Putin, Trump stated that he prefers a complete peace settlement over an unconditional ceasefire. Despite repeated efforts at negotiation, Ukraine and Russia's basic views appear to remain unchanged.

Trump confessed in a Fox News interview on Tuesday that Putin may not want to make a deal.

We'll learn more about President Putin over the next few weeks. It is possible that he does not want to make a settlement, Trump said, adding that Putin would be in a difficult position if peace efforts fail.
