Citizens And Residents Targeted By Online Fraud; ROP Advises Caution

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has issued a warning to people and inhabitants of Oman about a fraudulent website that claims to receive and process complaints and reports.

The Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations has cautioned against receiving various complaints from people and inhabitants who say they were victims of fraud by a bogus website that claims to receive and process complaints and reports.

ROP emphasizes the significance of confirming the legitimacy of government websites. The National Platform for Suggestions, Complaints, and Reports (Tajawob) does not ask for personal or financial information, and it does not charge payments or fees in any situation. Any communication requesting such information is regarded a fraudulent effort. Communication from the platform's specialized teams is limited to completing information about the request that has been submitted.
