People Urged To Donate Blood In Oman

Muscat: The Department of Blood Banks Services (DBBS) is calling on individuals to contribute to the cause by donating blood and platelets, as the Central Blood Bank is experiencing a significant decrease in the number of donors.

According to DBBS, since the beginning of Ramadan, the Central Blood Bank has observed a notable decline in both blood and platelet donors. Only 308 individuals donated blood, while a mere 24 donors contributed platelets.

During the holy month of Ramadan, the Central Blood Bank requires more than 2,700 blood donors and 260 platelet donors. Therefore, it is crucial for everyone to step forward and donate blood and platelets to fulfill the needs of patients during this period.

The Central Blood Bank, located in Baushar, operates blood donation hours from Sunday to Thursday. In the morning, donations are accepted from 8 am to 12:30 pm, and in the evening, from 7:30 pm to 11:30 pm. To schedule an appointment for blood and platelet donation, please contact us via WhatsApp at 94555648, as emphasized by DBBS.
