Registration Of 'Iqraa For Young Readers' 2025 Competition Continues Until 2 October

Muscat: The Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science, which is affiliated with the Diwan of Royal Court, is accepting applications for the 14th edition of the Iqraa for Young Readers contest until October 2, 2025.

Registration is accessible through the competition's official website: https://sqhccs. gov. om/iqraa/register.

The contest is a cultural effort conducted by the Centre on a yearly basis. It seeks to instill a reading habit in young people, broaden their cultural understanding, and encourage them to visit libraries. This helps shape their character, broaden their intellectual and cognitive horizons, and instill national values and cultural identity.

The contest is separated into three stages based on age groups and addresses a wide range of themes related to national, technical, and social concerns. Participants must read a set of books, create summaries of them, and then discuss the contents during the evaluation rounds.

Participation will be judged based on the following factors: linguistic correctness, clarity of concept, handwriting quality, style, and linguistic expression, as well as compliance with the general terms and conditions listed on the competition website.

The current edition of the tournament spans all Sultanate of Oman governorates, with events spread across 14 cultural and library centers to encourage broad engagement and ease student access to competition sites.
