Musqat: Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) was honored with five awards at the Second GCC International Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Conference and Awards 2024 in Bahrain for its exceptional contributions to corporate social responsibility. The event was hosted by the Bahrain CSR Society in collaboration with the Eastern Province Council for Social Responsibility from Saudi Arabia.
PDO clinched the top spot in the categories of Excellence in International CSR and Excellence in Community Social Service. Moreover, it achieved second place in Excellence in Environmental Sustainable Development and Excellence in Community Social Development.
Engineer Abdul-Amir bin Abdul-Hussein Al Ajmi, PDO's External Affairs and Value Creation Director, received the Excellence in CSR-Community Builder Award for individuals.
Eng. Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Mohsin Al Ghareebi, PDO's External Affairs, Communication, and Social Investment Manager, expressed pride in the awards, emphasizing PDO's dedication to socially and environmentally responsible practices in line with Oman Vision 2040's sustainable development goals. He highlighted the team's efforts and reiterated the commitment to further enhance contributions for future generations.
PDO's commitment to social responsibility goes beyond accolades. In the previous year, PDO initiated 95 new projects under its Social Investment Programme, totaling around US$13 million. These projects covered areas like health, safety, environment, education, youth and women empowerment, and community welfare. Over the last decade, PDO has invested approximately US$130 million in CSR projects.
