Over 8,000 Individuals Enroll In Centres For People With Disabilities

Muscat: At the beginning of the Sultanate of Oman, government, commercial, and civilian rehabilitation centers and units for persons with impairments greeted 8,941 participants. of the new 2025/2026 rehabilitation year.

Comprehensive plans are in place to offer advanced rehabilitation services and programs that empower recipients and integrate them into society.

The distribution of enrollees includes 3,586 in government rehabilitation centers and units, 4,756 in private rehabilitation centers, and 599 in civilian rehabilitation centers.

Oman's rehabilitation system consists of 126 institutions, including 43 government centers and units such as Al Wafa Rehabilitation Centers for People with Disabilities and the National Autism Early Intervention Center, the Intellectual Disability and Down Syndrome Center, the Cerebral Palsy and Physical Disabilities Center, and the Vocational Rehabilitation Center are all located in Muscat Governorate. There are 72 commercial clinics and 11 civilian centers, as well as center and mobile rehabilitation units.

A total of 1,417 technical professionals are committed to helping people with disabilities, with 406 working in government rehabilitation centers and units and 928 There are 71 private and 83 civilian facilities.

They offer a wide array of rehabilitation services and programs in special education, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, mental and behavioural rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, and seminars. Training, sports, arts, and family counseling are among the activities offered.
