Online Registration For Admission In Indian Schools

Muscat: Online registration for admissions to Indian Schools in the capital region for the academic year 2025-2026 will begin on January 20, 2025, for classes Balvatika through IX.

This registration is applicable to seven Indian Schools in the capital region, including Indian School Bousher, Indian School Muscat, Indian School Darsait, Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir, Indian School Al Ghubra, Indian School Al Seeb, and Indian School Al Maabela.

Dr. Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Indian Schools Oman, commented on the improved admission process, stating, “The centralized admission system implemented by the Board has greatly streamlined the process, providing ease for both parents and schools during the busy admission season. Our online portal offers detailed information regarding admission procedures, available spots, and common inquiries, alleviating the challenges parents face in securing appropriate school placements.” He also noted, “This initiative demonstrates our dedication to delivering accessible, transparent, and efficient educational services to the Indian community in Oman.”

Parents wishing to enroll their children in the International Wings (Cambridge Syllabus) at Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir and Indian School Al Ghubra must also complete registration via the online portal.

Admissions are open to Indian children holding valid resident visas. For Balvatika enrollment, children must be at least three years old by April 1, 2025.

Support for children with special needs is available at the Care and Special Education (CSE) center located within Indian School Muscat. Parents interested in these services can reach out to the CSE administration directly or visit www.cseoman.com.

In a notable advancement, the Board of Directors has declared the rollout of the National Education Policy (NEP) across all Indian Schools in Oman. The NEP 2020 has restructured the academic framework into a 5+3+3+4 model, which focuses on a comprehensive and developmental approach to education. The Foundational Stage now includes a 3-year Kindergarten program, consisting of Balvatika, Kindergarten I, and Kindergarten II, followed by Classes 1 and 2, designed for children aged 3 to 8 years. This marks a significant transition from the previous 2-year Kindergarten format to a 3-year structure, thereby providing a stronger foundation for early learning.

Parents are urged to finalize the registration process by the deadline of 20th February 2025. Comprehensive details regarding the admission process can be found at www.indianschoolsoman.com.
