India-Oman Healthcare Meet, Organized By Embassy Of India, Boosts Medical Cooperation

Muscat: The Embassy of India in Muscat, in collaboration with Malayala Manorama, a distinguished Indian media conglomerate, hosted an India-Oman Business-to-Business (B2B) meeting on Healthcare at the Embassy on the 23rd of September, 2024. This event served as a platform for the convergence of 26 prominent Indian hospitals, who are also participating in the Oman Health Exhibition and Conference (OHEC) at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, scheduled from the 23rd to the 25th of September, 2024.

2. Dr. Waleed Khalid Zadjali, the President of the Oman Medical Association, was honored as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed Al Alawi, the Director General of the General Directorate of Khoula Hospital, and Dr. Khalid Al Rasadi, the Director of Medical Research Center, SQU, College of Medicine & Health Sciences, were appointed as the Guests of Honor. The B2B meeting was graced by the participation of several senior medical professionals and doctors from the leading hospitals in Muscat. This event facilitated meaningful exchanges between the healthcare sectors of both nations, offering a platform for discussions on the expansion of medical tourism and the utilization of India's strengths in providing cost-effective, high-quality healthcare services.

During the event, His Excellency Amit Narang, the Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman, noted, "India and Oman share a robust and growing collaboration in the healthcare sector, which encompasses both modern and traditional systems of medicine. The potential to enhance medical tourism and forge stronger healthcare partnerships between our countries is significant, and today's event signifies a significant step towards achieving this goal."

4. India has emerged as a preferred destination for patients worldwide, including those from Oman, in search of top-tier yet affordable medical care. The healthcare system in India, bolstered by a skilled workforce, reduced waiting times, and streamlined visa procedures for medical tourists, provides comprehensive care that continues to attract Omani nationals.

5. In the early hours of the day, Ambassador Amit Narang inaugurated the Indian Pavilion at the Oman Health Exhibition and Conference. This pavilion highlights the expertise of the leading 26 Indian hospitals, showcasing India's excellence in delivering advanced healthcare services.
