His Majesty Issues Royal Directive To Assist Children With Type 1 Diabetes

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has issued Royal Orders approving an annual budget for the Ministry of Health to provide cutting-edge electronic sensor devices for measuring sugar levels and insulin pumps to children diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

In line with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik's compassionate concern for his fellow citizens, he has graciously commanded the allocation of funds to the Ministry of Health. This will enable the provision of state-of-the-art electronic sensor devices, which accurately measure sugar levels, and insulin pumps for children below school age, preschoolers, and school students under the age of eighteen who are Omani nationals and have type 1 diabetes.

These sensors represent the latest advancements in technology and offer advanced methods for managing the symptoms associated with blood sugar disorders. By facilitating precise monitoring, they contribute to reducing the complications arising from this disease.

While there is currently no cure for type 1 diabetes, it can be effectively managed in children through advanced medical techniques and modern technologies. These interventions significantly enhance the quality of life for affected individuals, enabling them to lead normal lives, actively participate in school and social activities, and effectively cope with the disease.

The provision of these state-of-the-art technologies to diabetic children and school students through the royal orders aims to offer support to them and their families. This initiative recognizes the challenges faced by some individuals in accepting traditional treatments that heavily rely on insulin injections.
