Muscat – In a sorrowful event, a total of four individuals lost their lives, with one suffering severe injuries following a group of hikers becoming ensnared in flash floods within Wadi Tanuf, Nizwa.
A press release from the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has reported that five members of a 16-person international hiking assembly were carried away by the abrupt onset of heavy rainfall. Among the fatalities were one Omani national and three individuals of Arab descent. The condition of one hiker is currently critical.
The ROP has also affirmed that police aircraft have been utilized to facilitate the transportation of the injured to Nizwa Reference Hospital for immediate medical attention.
