Expat Arrested For Possessing Large Quantity Of Prohibited Cigarettes In South Al Batinah

Muscat: A foreign expatriate has been apprehended for the possession and storage of 4,000 cartons of cigarettes that are both restricted and prohibited.

The Oman Customs Department issued a statement: "The Compliance and Risk Assessment Department has taken action against an Asian individual found in possession of and storing restricted and prohibited cigarettes. During a raid at his residence in the Wilayat of Barka, South Al Batinah, 4,000 cartons of cigarettes were confiscated. The appropriate legal procedures are in progress."
