Exciting Scientific Experiments Continue At Oman Science Festival

Muscat: The Oman Science Festival 2024 continued its activities at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, amidst a bustling crowd of students, teachers, and enthusiasts of science.

The second day of events was replete with captivating scientific experiments, offering visitors the opportunity to explore the latest advancements in science and technology.

The festival also featured interactive workshops, where students were encouraged to apply scientific concepts in their daily lives as a means of learning.

These workshops spanned a variety of disciplines, including Physics, Chemistry, Astronomy, Artificial Intelligence, and Modern Technology.

The Omaria Theatre, in collaboration with the Oman Environmental Services Holding Company “be’ah”, showcased a competition titled “Environmental Champions”, which was met with considerable enthusiasm from the student attendees.

Additionally, the Ibn Omaira Theatre presented a play entitled “Suns of Knowledge”, which illuminated the significant contributions of Muslim scientists to the advancement of scientific knowledge.

The 4D Frame Company delivered engaging performances on the role of Artificial Intelligence in everyday life, offering interactive educational experiences that included simulations of AI to enhance human creativity.

The evening events on Tuesday were characterized by an atmosphere of excitement and enjoyment among the audience.

The Mishkat interactive exhibition introduced the “Future Expeditors” initiative, aimed at raising awareness about renewable energy and highlighting the role of Saudi Arabia in the energy sector.

Furthermore, the Fuel Company presented an interactive performance titled “Fuel Story”, narrating the inspiring journey of an Omani fuel factory that successfully converted used cooking oil into biodiesel, thereby reducing waste and environmental pollution.

A multitude of health and academic institutions from both national and private sectors participated in the festival's health and life corner, enriching the educational experience for all attendees.

Throughout the festival, a diverse array of institutions hosted a multitude of workshops and events designed to engage attendees of all ages and educational backgrounds. These offerings aimed to introduce participants to the forefront of contemporary technologies in diagnosing and treating diseases, while also imparting a collection of essential health skills and knowledge.

The core of the festival featured an assortment of activities, workshops, interactive competitions, and exhibits showcasing various medical techniques. These elements were strategically designed to foster awareness and promote a culture of health across different disciplines, catering to the interests and capabilities of all age groups.

A vibrant corner of the festival was dedicated to scientific activities and workshops, as well as the exploration of renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and hydrogen energy. This area also presented thermal insulation simulation models and the opportunity to experience the Fisher Technic tools, enriching the festival experience for attendees of all ages.

Participants had the chance to engage in enriching experimental trips focused on specialized space science and its various fields, witnessing innovations and scientific advancements in the realms of aviation and space exploration.

The festival also offered innovative simulation experiences, interactive design challenges, simulator tours, and a high-speed virtual race, providing a comprehensive experience for attendees.

Furthermore, the festival provided a miniature astronomical dome, allowing visitors to interact with astronomical components in an engaging manner. This interactive experience was designed to broaden their understanding and spark their interest in modern science.
