Muscat: The annual strategic drill "Decision Making 12" began on Sunday at the National Defence College (NDC) of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies.
The drill, which runs until July 8, is conducted by participants in the 12th session of various military, security, and civil organizations, as well as experts and advisors from military, security, and government units, and the National Defence College staff.
The NDC's "Decision Making 12" drill showcases the skills and knowledge acquired by session participants, converting theoretical and academic programs in strategic studies into practical application at the national, regional, and international levels using contemporary training techniques.
Rear Admiral Ali bin Abdullah Al Shidi, Commandant of the National Defence College and Director of the drill, emphasized the importance of the exercise and the participants' proper handling of its strategic questions and events, as well as the application of the procedures and strategies they have learned during the 12 sessions of the National Defence College.
He explained that the drill converts the academic knowledge and skills that participants have gained as part of the 12 National Defence Course's general curriculum into practical applications.
The 12th drill "Decision Making" was designed to improve participants' strategic decision-making abilities and perspectives, as well as to examine significant strategic issues among other objectives.
