Sohar: The Second International Conference on Sustainable Environmental Sciences and Engineering, organized by the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS), commenced on Wednesday in Sohar.
Dr. Mahad Said Ba’owain, Minister of Labour, graced the opening ceremony with his presence.
Renowned local and international experts and specialists in technical sciences, focusing on environmental sustainability, are participating in the two-day conference.
On the first day of the conference, two specialized papers were presented. The first paper discussed zero-carbon neutrality projects in Oman, while the second paper highlighted the application of evaporation, condensation, and humidity on smooth surfaces to reduce carbon emissions.
An exhibition was also inaugurated during the event, showcasing over 28 research posters that delve into significant projects related to the conference topics. These posters shed light on the stages of project implementation and the scientific outcomes they have yielded.
The conference has attracted experts and academics from 9 countries, who will present 70 working papers and share their valuable experiences.
