Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism today hosted a workshop on the use of Artificial Intelligence in Tourism Promotion. The workshop was part of the ministry's attempts to improve the efficiency of the tourist industry and equip it to keep up with global technology trends. Marketing and sales people from hotels, travel firms, and tour operators attended.
The workshop was intended to empower tourism sector stakeholders to employ AI technology in order to improve promotional performance and boost the competitiveness of tourist destinations in the Sultanate of Oman. The strategy focused on implementing real-world AI applications for commercial content creation, mood analysis, and targeted marketing.
The workshop also included presentations on successful regional and worldwide AI applications in this sector, with the goal of increasing the efficiency of tourism employees and allowing them to embrace global tourism promotion methods. The overall aim is to improve the Sultanate of Oman's status as a popular tourist destination.
A training programme linked to the workshop focused on the ethical use of artificial intelligence technologies and the evaluation of tourist data for the creation of promotion and marketing campaigns that are consistent with the goals of Omani tourism companies.
The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism will announce the debut of a sustainability training programme through the Partner Support Platform, which aims to improve the capacity of tourism workers and equip them with the knowledge and abilities required to strike a balance between tourism growth and the preservation of natural and cultural resources.
The workshop was one of several projects launched by the Ministry to promote the tourist sector's potential and guarantee that it is prepared to address future needs in a way that meets the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
