Muscat: Two Omani research projects have been chosen as one of the top 13 worldwide initiatives to be exhibited at the 66th edition of the London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF) in 2025.
Oman is represented at the convention by five cutting-edge scientific projects selected from among 340 local creative and research proposals. The inclusion of two Omani initiatives in this prestigious global list highlights the excellence of Omani youth in scientific research and innovation.
Hala Ali Al Zaabi, the innovator, unveiled the proposal named Tannova: An Omani Solution – Statistically Optimized Leachate Treatment with Date Pit Tannins and AOP. This project provides an unusual environmental solution for treating industrial waste using ecologically friendly means that leverage local natural resources.
Ecofie: AI-Driven Green Hydrogen Production From Mesquite and Industrial Effluents is innovator Al Muntaser Salim Al Mamari's second initiative, which aims to create and deliver long-term clean energy solutions using artificial intelligence.
The selection of these two projects reflects the high level of scientific excellence attained by Omani youngsters and their increasing contribution in providing creative research solutions to global issues, notably in the sectors of environment, energy, and new technology.
The forum, which will take place in London from July 23 to August 6, 2025, with the participation of top researchers and talented students from several countries around the world, is regarded as one of the most prominent international scientific platforms celebrating innovation and research in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
