Visitors To Oman Reach 2.3 Million By End Of June 2024

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman witnessed a significant increase in visitor numbers throughout July 2024, with a total of 2,300,000 visitors, marking a 2.4% growth from the same period in the previous year, as reported by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

During July 2024, the country was graced by 371,394 visitors, a slight decrease of 1.3% from the previous year's record of 376,376 visitors.

The majority of visitors, accounting for 56%, were from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, followed by 89,007 visitors from Asia. Arab visitors constituted 48,221, and Europeans made up 13,379.

Additionally, visitors from other regions included 6,092 from Africa, 5,271 from the Americas, and 939 from Oceania.

In terms of financial performance, the revenues generated by 3-5 star hotels by the end of July 2024 reached RO 132.3 million, showing a 7.9% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

The revenue from room bookings saw a notable increase of 8.3%, reaching RO 76.6 million, while other revenues saw a 7.3% rise to RO 55.7 million.

The occupancy rate of hotels by the end of July 2024 stood at 46.7%, indicating a 9.3% increase in the number of guests compared to the previous year.
