Khareef: Salalah Airport Sees 5% Jump In Passengers, 16% In Flights

Salalah Airport saw an increase in aircraft movements and passenger traffic throughout the Khareef Dhofar season 2025, which lasted from June 21 to August 3, compared to the same time the previous year.

According to Oman Airports, overall aircraft movements climbed by 16% to 1,849 flights, up from 1,592 flights in the 2024 season.

The overall number of passengers climbed by 5%, from 274,030 the previous year to 288,110.

Arrivals saw a 16 percent rise in the number of flights, from 795 in 2024 to 925 in 2025, while the number of arriving passengers grew by 3%, to 158,301, up from 153,378 the previous year.

Oman Airports claimed that it worked to give passengers a smooth and comfortable travel experience by using new technologies to complete operations, increasing airport lounge capacity, and offering a range of hospitality and commercial services.

It also began the Travel Easier program, which allows people to do trip tasks directly from their vehicles, saving time and increasing comfort.

The increase in air activity and passenger counts indicates increasing tourist interest for Dhofar Governorate during the fall season, owing to its pleasant climate and occasional rainfall.
