Kuwait Eases Rules For GCC Residents To Get A Visa-On-Arrival

Kuwait's Interior Minister, Sheikh Fahad al Yousef al Sabah, issued an order on Sunday enabling all visitors residing in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to enter Kuwait with a tourist visa upon arrival at all entry points, according to the Kuwait Times.

The decision takes effect instantly.

A tourist visa is valid for 90 days. According to the ruling, GCC nationals must possess a residency visa in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, or Bahrain that is valid for at least six months.

According to the report, the decision also repeals rules issued in 2008 that permitted only specific sorts of GCC citizens, such as physicians, engineers, judges, executives, and others, to use the tourist visa on arrival.

Around 25 million foreigners living in the five GCC member countries are eligible for the Kuwaiti visa upon arrival.

For many years, citizens of most European nations, North America, some Latin American countries, and major Asian countries such as China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and others have been able to apply for tourist visas upon arrival.

Over the last 15 months, Kuwait has relaxed limits on visas for visitors in an attempt to broaden the country for tourists. It has also simplified it for hotels to sponsor tourists and for enterprises to get commercial visas for foreign partners.
