During the meeting, the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, met with Ambassador Dr. Muhammad bin Awad Al Hassan, the Permanent Representative of Oman to the United Nations. The purpose of the meeting was to submit a periodic report on the developments in Yemen to the United Nations.
At the headquarters of Oman's permanent delegation to the United Nations, the UN envoy reiterated the United Nations' gratitude for Oman's support in achieving peace and stability in Yemen. He emphasized the importance of Oman's efforts to the international community, particularly in promoting unity and stability in Yemen and fostering peaceful relations with its neighbors.
The UN envoy also expressed optimism about the potential progress in Oman's peaceful negotiation process, which aims to restore security and stability throughout Yemen. It is worth noting that this meeting served as an opportunity for exchanging views before the UN Special Envoy to Yemen presents a briefing to the Security Council on the situation in Yemen.
The meeting was attended by members of the Office of the UN Special Envoy to Yemen and Counselor Khalid bin Saleh Al-Rabkhi, Deputy Permanent Representative of Oman to the United Nations in New York.
