Sultan Qaboos Road Infrastructure Repair Work Reaches 99% Completion

Al Musanna: The Ministry of Transportation, Communication, and Information Technology is continuing to carry out the project to fix damage to Sultan Qaboos Road caused by monsoon weather in the Southern Al Batinah and Northern Al Batinah governorates. This effort is part of the ministry's continuous program to repair the road network and improve infrastructure.

According to Mahmoud Khalfan Al Wahaibi, a civil engineer at the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, the project entails restoring damaged pavement layers and building many underpasses to promote car flow. He noted that the most prominent of these is the underpass now being built in the Al Maladda neighborhood of the Wilayat of Al Musanna. Once open, it will improve traffic flow on both sides of Sultan Qaboos Road and stimulate economic and social activity in the area, increasing road infrastructure efficiency and decreasing the impact of future weather events, he said.

According to a statement to the Oman News Agency (ONA), the total cost of the project is OMR23. 6 million, with the Sultan Qaboos Road repair project currently 99% complete.
