Muscat: The "Third Real Estate Development Conference", held alongside the "18th edition of the Design and Construction Week", commenced at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) on Monday.
This collaborative event, spanning multiple days, is organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning in partnership with the Oman Real Estate Association. It serves as a global platform for real estate developers and enthusiasts.
Under the patronage of Abdulsalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority (OIA), the opening ceremony took place.
Within the conference, six agreements pertaining to partnership and development were signed for the "Integrated Residential Plans and Neighbourhoods Project".
These projects encompass a total area of 3.3 million square meters and boast an investment value of OMR333 million. They offer over 5,000 residential units, including the "Al-Luban Neighborhood" project in the Wilayat of Nakhal, Governorate of South Al Batinah; the "Majd Neighborhood" project in the Wilayat of Sohar, Governorate of North Al Batinah; the "Husn Al Zain" project in the Wilayat of Bidbid, Governorate of A'Dakhiliyah; the "Al Ahd Neighborhood" project in the Wilayat of Al Amerat, Muscat Governorate; the "Tilal Al Nakheel" Project in the Wilayat of Khasab, Musandam Governorate; and the "A'shurooq Neighborhood" project in the Wilayat of Salalah, Dhofar Governorate.
The event also featured the signing of contracts to grant integrated residential layouts for units that cover a total area of 1.3 million square meters and have a value of OMR5.7 million. These layouts include Al Rustaq layout in South Al Batinah Governorate, Nizwa layout in A’Dakhiliyah Governorate, and the North A’Sharqiyah layout in Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi.
Seven investment sites were made available for electronic bidding through the "Tatweer" platform. This online bidding initiative demonstrates the Ministry's commitment to keeping up with digital transformation updates.
Furthermore, the event marked the commencement of an associated exhibition that showcased the products of over 150 exhibitors and featured 10 international pavilions. The exhibits included significant future development projects such as Sultan Haitham City, the "Ayda" project, Al Jabal Al Akhdhar destination project, Oman Waterfront at Al Khuwair Downtown, the Future City at Oman Tourism Front in Salalah, Sohar Future City, and the masterplan of Greater Muscat.
The conference serves as a valuable opportunity for investors from various countries to connect and collaborate. Additionally, agreements were signed for project development and the launch of sales at Sultan Haitham City.
