Revenues Of Star Hotels In Oman Surge By 18.2% To Top OMR52mn By February 2024

Muscat: The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) has released data showing a significant increase in the total revenues of 3 to 5-star hotels in Oman. By the end of February 2024, the revenues rose by 18.2 percent to OMR52.38 million, compared to OMR44.41 million during the same period in 2023.

This rise in revenues can be attributed to the substantial increase in the number of hotel guests. Until the end of February 2024, there were 433,856 guests, marking an 18.2 percent increase from the 366,969 guests recorded by the end of February 2023. Additionally, the rate of occupancy also experienced growth, with an increase of 11.2 percent, as reported by the NCSI.

The statistics further revealed that the number of Omani hotel guests increased by 5.7 percent to reach 141,335, while the number of GCC guests rose by 13.6 percent to 25,607. European tenants also saw a significant growth of 28.7 percent, reaching 153,422.

Moreover, the number of hotel guests from the Americas reached 14,829, and the African continent witnessed a growth rate of 9.7 percent, with 2,029 hotel tenants. Meanwhile, the number of Asian tenants experienced a substantial increase of 29.5 percent, totaling 54,562. Lastly, the number of hotel guests from Oceania stood at 6,347.
