Passengers Through Oman’s Airports Increase By 11.9% During First Half Of 2024

Muscat: The aggregate figure of passengers traversing the airports within the Sultanate of Oman during the initial six months of 2024 has seen a notable increase of 11.9%, rising to 7,074,854 passengers (across 53,316 flights) in comparison to the corresponding period in 2023, as per preliminary data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

By the conclusion of June 2024, the total number of passengers passing through Muscat International Airport had climbed to 6,386,267, marking an increase of 11.8% from the previous year. This figure is indicative of 48,052 flights, an increment of 8.7%.

Additionally, the figure for passengers transiting through Salalah Airport has seen a significant rise to 628,951, an increase of 10.9% when compared to the same period in 2023. These passengers were accommodated on 4,688 flights, demonstrating an increase of 7.3%.

Moreover, the airport in Salalah facilitated 2,475 international flights, with a total of 306,989 passengers, whereas the domestic flights saw a total of 2,213 flights, accommodating 321,962 passengers.

Furthermore, the airport in Sohar served 29,751 passengers across 268 flights, while Duqm Airport managed 29,885 passengers across 308 flights.
