New Delhi: An Indian citizen is accused of urinating on another passenger during Air India flight AI2336, which was traveling from Delhi to Bangkok on Wednesday.
The airline has acknowledged the incident and announced that an independent committee will be formed to investigate the situation and decide on the appropriate measures.
"Air India confirms that an incident involving unruly behavior by a passenger was reported to the cabin crew on flight AI2336 from Delhi to Bangkok on April 9, 2025. The crew adhered to all established protocols, and the incident has been reported to the relevant authorities. While the unruly passenger received a warning, our crew also offered assistance to the affected passenger in filing a complaint with authorities in Bangkok, which was declined at that moment," the airline stated.
"The independent committee will be assembled to evaluate the incident and determine any necessary actions against the unruly passenger. Air India remains committed to following the standard operating procedures set forth by the DGCA in such cases," it further stated.
Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has promised that the Ministry will take action if any misconduct is identified.
"The Ministry pays close attention to such incidents. They will communicate with the airline, and if any wrongdoing is discovered, we will take appropriate action," Naidu remarked in a statement.
