Al Jabal Al Akhdar: According to data published by the National Center for Statistics and Information, the number of visitors to the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar in the A'Dakhiliyah Governorate from January to the end of June 2025 reached 89,780, compared to 84,869 visitors during the same period in 2024, representing a 5.8% increase.
This increase in visitors during the first half of 2025 is due to the planning of numerous activities in the Wilaya, including the Spring of the Mountain event, which coincided with the rose harvesting season. This is one of the most important annual events that draws tourists from both within and outside the Sultanate of Oman.
The events, which were coordinated by the A'Dakhiliyah Governorate Office, the Department of Heritage and Tourism, and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Department in the governorate, helped to promote tourism and educate visitors about the value of Omani roses, their related agricultural techniques and traditional industries, while also showcasing the cultural and natural legacy of Al Jabal Al Akhdar. Other significant events, such as the Rumana affair, contributed to this.
According to figures, the number of Omani visitors to Al Jabal Al Akhdar in the first half of 2025 was 26,605, while more than 6,000 people visited from other GCC nations.
According to statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information, the number of tourists from other Arab nationalities was 4,998, whereas foreign nationals made up the majority of visitors, accounting for 51,710.
It is worth noting that Al Jabal Al Akhdar is one of Oman's most popular tourist destinations, noted for its moderate summer temperature. The abundance of hotel amenities, rest homes, and tourist lodges, as well as the hosting of several events, has helped to attract tourists.
Al Jabal Al Akhdar is also regarded as one of the most popular ecotourism and adventure tourism locations. Visitors may participate in a variety of activities, including trekking through valleys, exploring caves, and mountain climbing, which all provide chances to learn about the local culture in the Wilaya communities, increasing its appeal as a complete tourist destination.
