Order Of The Rising Sun Conferred On Former CEO Of Oman LNG

Muscat: On 7 March 2024, the Embassy of Japan in the Sultanate of Oman organized a ceremony at the Crowne Plaza hotel to honor Harib Al Kitani, the former Chief Executive Officer of Oman LNG, by conferring upon him the esteemed Order of the Rising Sun.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of distinguished guests from the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, the State Council, Oman LNG, Japanese companies, as well as his family and friends. Jota Yamamoto, the Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman, had the privilege of bestowing the Order on Harib Al Kitani on behalf of the Government of Japan. This recognition was announced by the Government of Japan on 3 November 2023, acknowledging Harib Al Kitani's exceptional contributions in fostering enduring partnerships and networks between Japan and Oman in the energy sector. His efforts have paved the way for continued collaboration in the pursuit of clean energy and new business ventures.

The Order of the Rising Sun, a prestigious decoration in Japan, was established in 1875. Since 1981, non-Japanese nationals have also been eligible to receive this distinguished honor.
