During the meeting, the Unit presented an overview of its responsibilities and discussed ways to enhance cooperation and partnership with the governors' offices in order to achieve the goals of Oman Vision 2040. Special attention was given to the implementation of decentralization as a crucial factor in the development of governorates and sustainable cities.
Dr. Khamis Saif Al Jabri, the Head of Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, was present at the meeting. He explained the procedures carried out by the Unit to monitor the progress of the Vision's implementation.
The meeting included visual presentations, including one on a project called "Institution Indices" that defines the role of each government department in meeting the targets of Oman Vision 2040.
In collaboration with government institutions, the Unit has developed "Goal Cards" that outline the main objectives of the vision and assess the extent to which they have been achieved. A total of 55 goal cards have been approved as of the first quarter of 2024, including those related to the governorates.
The meeting also discussed the simplification of procedures, the facilitation of services, and the development of systems to ensure that beneficiaries receive high-quality and efficient services.
