Oman Urges Self-restraint Amid Regional Military Escalation

Oman has reaffirmed its dedication to closely monitoring the escalating military situation in the region, expressing serious concerns about the potential consequences. The country has called on all parties to show self-restraint in order to prevent the region and its inhabitants from being pulled into the perils of war. Oman has reiterated its commitment to upholding international laws and has emphasized the importance of the UN Security Council fulfilling its duty to maintain global peace and security.

In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry on Sunday, Oman has stressed the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. It has also highlighted the importance of establishing humanitarian corridors to ensure the unhindered delivery of relief aid to all parts of the Gaza Strip.

Furthermore, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has emphasized the utmost importance of safeguarding regional and global security and stability amidst the recent and escalating developments in the Middle East. The GCC has underlined the necessity for all parties to exercise maximum restraint to prevent any further escalation that could endanger the stability of the region.

Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, stated, "The Cooperation Council emphasizes the critical nature of upholding regional and global security and stability amidst the recent and accelerating developments in the Middle East, urging all parties to exercise utmost restraint to prevent escalation, which poses an additional threat to the region's stability and the safety of its people."

Al Budaiwi has highlighted the need for collective efforts and diplomatic approaches to effectively resolve disputes and ensure the security and stability of the region. He has reiterated the international community's role in supporting peace and stability initiatives to mitigate any repercussions that could lead to further escalation. Al Budaiwi has called on all relevant parties to commit to maintaining regional and global security and peace.
