Oman To Take Part In ITB Berlin As An Official Partner

The ITB Berlin Convention, the world's largest tourism forum, is set to commence on Monday.

The Sultanate of Oman has been named an official partner for ITB Berlin 2024, scheduled to run until 7 March.

This collaboration presents a unique opportunity to boost the travel and tourism industry in Oman, attracting more visitors to the country.

By partnering with ITB Berlin, Oman reaffirms its dedication to developing the tourism sector, solidifying its position as a top global tourist destination, and showcasing attractive investment prospects.

Minister of Heritage and Tourism, Salim bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, will lead the Sultanate of Oman's delegation to the ITB Berlin Convention.

Oman's presence at the event will be represented by 70 tourism companies, hotels, and businesses, as part of ongoing efforts to promote Oman's tourism on the international stage.

Al Mahrouqi stated, "Oman's participation as an official partner at ITB Berlin aligns with the collective endeavors to enhance the tourism sector."

He highlighted that being celebrated as an official partner at ITB Berlin 2024 will offer numerous benefits, shining a spotlight on Oman as a premier tourist destination in the region and reaching an audience of approximately 14 million through the event's official website.

He highlighted that over 3,000 individuals are expected to attend the official opening celebration.

Representatives from 160 countries, along with major tourism companies and travel sector planners from around the globe, will be joined by 7,000 media representatives from various international media outlets.

Al Mahrouqi informed Oman News Agency (ONA) that the event will showcase various performances highlighting the civilization, history, and culture of the Sultanate of Oman, including artistic and operatic displays.

He emphasized the Sultanate of Oman's commitment to supporting the tourism sector through infrastructure investments and the implementation of numerous tourism and heritage projects, totaling USD7.8 billion. Over 40 adventure tourism projects are currently in progress.

These projects are expected to be finalized by 2025 and 2026, in addition to several other initiatives.

The Mayor of Berlin will inaugurate the Sultanate of Oman's pavilion on the 5th of March, making it the first pavilion to open at the forum, signaling the commencement of its activities.
