Oman To Participate In World Economic Forum In Davos

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman will participate in the annual World Economic Forum (WEF) meetings in "Davos 2025," scheduled to take place in Switzerland from January 20 to 24.

As one of the leading international economic gatherings, the WEF convenes government officials, business leaders, scholars, and civil society representatives to address global challenges and explore solutions that foster sustainable growth.

The forum plays a crucial role in promoting innovative strategies that facilitate the shift towards more sustainable and equitable economies, with a particular emphasis on future challenges such as climate change, technological advancements, and social equity.

It aims to strengthen dialogue and collaboration among various stakeholders, including governments, corporations, academic institutions, and community organizations, to achieve shared objectives.

The discussions at WEF 2025 will center around five key themes: advancing the green economy to enhance sustainable development by lowering carbon emissions; fostering environmentally friendly innovations through modern technologies to create resilient infrastructure; transitioning to renewable energy sources to decrease reliance on conventional energy; promoting sustainable economic growth that benefits communities while safeguarding natural resources; and examining the effects of technology, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things, health technologies, regulatory technologies, and financial technologies on different economic sectors.

Oman's delegation to the WEF will be led by Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy, and will include representatives from both the public and private sectors.
